A Thermo-Electric motor cooler is actually a heat pump which cools the temperature of R/C Motors using a Peltier effect. When a 12V DC current is applied to the module, heat transfers from one side of the thermoelectric module to the other. The cold side is attached to the heat sink. Put your TMC on your motor before you start, the TMC will reduce the temperature of your motor almost to sub-zero temperatures. The prototype of TMC was tested by World champions - Marc Rheinard and Surikarn Chaidajsuriya at the 2005 TITC race in Thailand. Under extremely hot weather condition (the temperature of the track surface was over 60deg.C) the TMC delayed their motor's heating. As a result, their motors were free from the usual problems. |
